Indigenous Worldviews in Social Work

This course invites Indigenous people and knowledge keepers to communicate to social work students. Through these stories/presentations students will be exposed to the Indigenous Worldview( local and global wisdom). Students are expected to participate fully and purposefully to assist their development of their understanding. As Indigenous people, stories identifies our relationship to the natural world and creator which gives meaning on how the world was formed. Students will have the opportunity to explore the importance of maintaining this Indigenous knowledge as it continues to assist in guiding us and in re-establishing ways and reasons for our spirit, and our place in this world
