In this course students examine the historical. social and political context of common social issues and challenges. The course is centred on an examination of the source and nature of various types of addictive and abusive behaviours. Indigenous and Western perspectives are considered as students explore emotional. psychological. physical. and sexual abuse. Students are introduced to the range of support services that exist for individuals. families. and communities who are impacted by various forms of addictions. Prerequisite: ISWK 101 and 105
